BioCote Ltd will be debuting at Naidex from 24th to 26th April, highlighting the benefits of their patented silver technology.
BioCotes silver technology has the ability to help reduce bacteria such as MRSA, Legionella and Aspergillus niger (also known as black mould) by up to 99.9% over a 24-hour period.
Environmental Hygiene who produce clinical waste sack holders and Sidhil, healthcare furniture manufacturers, already incorporate BioCote into their products, to inhibit the growth of bacteria, mould and fungi on the surface. These manufacturers will also be exhibiting their products at Naidex.
BioCote partners with manufacturers worldwide to give their products anti-bacterial properties, which help reduce the risk of bacterial cross-contamination. The ability to prevent bacteria is especially important for equipment being used daily by the public.
With relentless pressure from the media, government and general public to become more hygienic, the need for community care establishments to keep cross-contamination and consequently Healthcare-associated Infections to a minimum has never been greater.
BioCotes technology, in the form of silver ions, is incorporated into products at the time of manufacture. The silver ions concentrate on the surface of these products, reducing the amount of bacteria present.
Mathew Harte, Managing Director, comments Despite regular cleaning, it is impossible to keep surfaces clean every minute of every day. BioCote gives an additional line of defence against harmful bacteria such as MRSA and Clostridium difficile 24-hours a day, in between cleaning. BioCote also helps reduce Aspergillus niger on products, helping to prevent the build up of black mould in moist environments such as washrooms and kitchens.
